Ludicrous Hypocrisy
....well this one reeks of bullshit.

Get this - a police officer, coming out of a petrol station, mistakes his brake pedal for the accelerator, driving his patrol car through the window of a tattoo parlor.

After laughing for a good 5 minutes, this story began to stink.

First off, let's think about a brake pedal vs. an accelerator pedal. One's a thin, tall, easy to depress pedal, the other is a long, fat, hard to depress pedal. Hmm? Yeah, I fail to see how Captain Wow here managed that in the first place.

Then, considering the petrol station probably is seperated from the Tattoo outfit by, hm, let's see, a ROAD, the copper manages to floor it long enough, obviously not realising what he was doing, to crash, without breaking or swerving, into the parlor.

But wait, hang on! Apparently he was getting OUT of the car. So how in the hell does a car pedal stay depressed with no one in the car? Yeeah. About that.

"Mr Bullot said the situation was made worse this afternoon by officers driving past in patrol cars and laughing at the damage." - tossers. Obviously had handed out all their speeding tickets and let all the murderers and rapists go.

"Nobody was injured but the police car was damaged". Wow. REALLY?

So in short, this story reeks, and police say they may or may not pay for the damage. So, the next time you get a speeding fine, tell the copper you 'may or may not' pay for the fine.

FAILURE.

So if you don't know about this carry-on, from what I can work out its a bunch of pissed off Bus drivers, wanting a pay rise. While the terms 'bus drivers' and 'good pay' seem like a (rightful) oxymoron, tomorrow, the drivers will strike. The strike will result in 80,000 Aucklanders normal commutes being thrown into chaos, and will disrupt school run routes for over 9,000 children.

And why? Well, it's easy to blame the drivers, but we can't ignore NZ Bus, who are too bloody useless to do anything about it. Rather than listen to their workers or placate them, they throw a lockout at them. Auckland's authorities are quite rightly 'a bit pissed' about all this, and comments by Mike Lee really say it all.

""Auckland will not be held to ransom. If you can't deliver the services that the people of Auckland rely on, then we will have to find someone else who can,"

My response? Good on ya mate. Someone needs to tell this pretentious group of tw*ts where to stick it. Watch out though Mike, because Zane Fulljames, (what the heck does he think he is - a f***ing power ranger?) NZ Bus spokesman, said the comments were 'not helpful.'

This piss weak response made me lose all respect for NZ Bus - what's 'not helpful' mate, is your company failing to deal with its problems and negotiate with its workers, resulting in a huge backlash on the ordinary public. Note the word, 'public', or as you probably read it, "pubelick". Your company provides a public service - it is your responsibility to serve the public. Not yourselves, or your pockets, but the public. Sort it out, because we're getting a bit tired of your poor excuses and weak measures.

I'm quite a nostalgic fellow, so finding this awesome clip from TV2 in New Zealand in 1995 recently was an awesome look back. Enjoy!

Do I spring for a 5G iPod nano, 16GB with camera for $318 NZ dollars, or sacrifice the camera, built in radio and new look for a 3G iPod touch, with iPhone 3GS internals, 64GB for $599? Sound off in the comments.

It's been many years since I faintly remember watching a VHS tape of a rather obscure cartoon that scared the living daylights out of me.

I've been thinking about this one a lot recently - having been on a bit of a nostalgia trip lately (more on that later), I've been desperately trying to remember what the cartoon was.

Turns out, from typing in "bbc poacher fox cartoon", the magical Google search engine kicked up a result. "The Animals of Farthing Wood trivia game."

That was it!

So a quick YouTube search turned up the entire series uploaded. What's more disturbing is upon picking a random episode I knew what was going on, and remembered most of the dialogue from the show as it played out - remember these are memories untouched since about 1999-2000, maybe 2001.

The Animals of Farthing Wood was originally a book, turned into a 1992 European Broadcasting Union collaboration cartoon, produced in England, France and Germany. The animation is beautiful, smooth, without any hint of computer assistance.

But what makes this show so special is the storyline. This is a children's cartoon, yet it deals with death, murder, loyalty and fighting to name a few. It scared me, but it taught me much. So far, rewatching, I've noticed references and storylines similar to : Othello, Romeo and Juliet, The Boy who cried wolf among others.

And that's the problem with children's TV now I feel. When was the last time Cack or Zody, whatever their stupid names are, bled on TV? The last time Hannah Montana taught you anything truly valuable about life? Didn't think so.

The fantastic intro for this show is attached.

Hi all,

It's come to my attention that there is a user on Twitter called "lewdhypocrisy" who is posing as a member of the Ludicrous Hypocrisy Productions Team.

I'd like to make it clear that "lewdhypocrisy" has no official involvement with this site or myself, and as such would advise you to take anything they say with a pinch of salt.

So I get into work this morning, and get faced with copies of Mac OS X 10.5.6 still on the shelves. Bloody awful, huh?

Thankfully boxes containing about 100 copies of 10.6 arrived early in the morning. Single user, family packs, Box Sets. All present and correct. And I must be honest, despite HATING the 10.6 packaging when viewed on the net, in person it looks bloody nice. The Snow Leopard stares you right in the eyes - it's quite a site to see rows upon rows of Snow Leopards staring you in the eye!

Copy after copy went streaming out the door - probably owing to the new features coupled with a tiny cost - $59 NZD for a single user ($199 for Leopard), $99 for Family Pack ($299 for Leopard) and $349 for the Box Set ($479 for Leopard).

I'll be posting my thoughts on Snow Leopard once I get a copy and give it a good test.
